I started Forma Vera with the deep belief that the body IS capable of balance, resilience, and progress when it's properly supported. Nutrition is not meant to feel confusing or like a punishment but is meant to work for the body not against it. This belief was shaped through both personal experience and years of professional work.
Like many people I became frustrated with the diet and weight loss industry's narrow focus on restriction and calorie control, approaches that often overlook the underlying factors influencing weight regulation. It wasn't until I learned to look deeper at metabolism, nourishment, and physiology, that real change became possible for me. Through years of experience working with individuals struggling with obesity, metabolic resistance, and long-standing weight frustration, I've seen this pattern repeat itself again and again. Persistent weight challenges are much deeper than willpower or calories but are often influenced by underlying hormonal, gastrointestinal, and metabolic factors that may be overlooked in conventional care.
My work in both clinical nutrition and functional medicine settings has shown me how transformative progress can become once these underlying contributors are addressed nutritionally. Weight regulation is influenced by far more than energy balance alone. Hormone signaling, gut health, metabolic adaptation, nutrient sufficiency, and individual physiology all play meaningful roles — and what supports one person’s health may be ineffective, or even counterproductive, for another.
